This workshop will introduce you to state-of-the-art VR toolkits and will take you through the development of your first VR software application. You will use an HTC Vive and a Leap Motion controller to interact with your application in VR, you will also add sounds and animations to improve the user experience (UX). At the end of the workshop there will be a brief consulting section where attendees can discuss the development of their idea with the teachers. Topics covered will include: The fundamentals of VR. A review of tools and hardware on the market. Unity 3D and various assets. The Leap Motion Software Development Kit (SDK). Interaction and motion tracking for VR applications.

Intended Audience. Anyone with an interest in exploring the capabilities of VR. Taught Using: Unity, Leap Motion SDK, SteamVR, Java JDK 8. What You Will Need: If you have a VR-ready machine and an HTC Vive let us know; you may be able to bring them to the course. Please Note.
