Susan founded Classlist as a way of reducing her own frustrations with communicating about everyday issues with other parents. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength and there are now around 700 schools registered, using the web and app for parent communication on parties, play dates, lost property, lift shares, social and fundraising events as well as burning issues that are bothering parents. Classlist raised £1m plus in 2016 and are in the next round of funding.
Many of the site's users, Moderators and Ambassadors are women. Part of Classlist's mission is to make the work women do to support parent communities and their schools as Class Reps and PTA members becomes acknowledged and supported. One of OWN's ambitions is to support women as 'returners', and talk about places where the system undervalues women so there is plenty of food for thought in Susan's talk.
This is for young women who want to be inspired by a women founder, young business or entrepreneurs who want to see how successful founders overcome challenges, for women who want to see their roles around schools finally acknowledged, and for anyone interested in the development of an exciting business.
This will be a fireside chat – so please send any questions you have for Susan along!
