16/17 January 10.00-17.00
The STFC Food Network+ (SFN) brings together STFC researchers and facilities with research and industry in the agri-food sector and currently has over 650 members.
This interdisciplinary community is working to provide a sustainable, secure supply of safe, nutritious, and affordable high-quality food in the context of global climate change and declining natural resources. One of the key goals for this Network is to kickstart new relevant projects and get them to the stage of successfully obtaining follow-on funding. Earlier this year the STFC Food Network+ awarded funding for 22 collaborative scoping projects involving direct partnerships between researchers in the STFC Physics and AgriFood communities (you can find out more about all of these projects here). One of the main reasons we funded these projects is because we believe they have great potential to use the innovative new connections to make an impact. We are holding a 2 day meeting with potential funders to showcase these projects and provide space to brainstorm potential new project ideas using STFC capabilities.
This meeting will take place on the 16th and 17th January 2019 at the Harwell Visitors Centre. The meeting is free to attend, we just ask that you register your details here so that we can plan accordingly. You can see our draft agenda here Please note that registration will close at the end of the day on Tuesday 8th January 2019 The event will consist of talks by expert speakers on topics spanning the STFC Physics and AgriFood sectors along with updates on our awarded projects and networking opportunities.
