In this session, our speaker will introduce you to somatic coaching. A transformative process, somatic coaching holds that the body and who you are as a person, the self, are inextricably linked and by working through the body we can directly work with the self. Somatics sees the body, the human form, as the unified space in which we act, perceive, think, feel, sense, express emotions and mood. It holds our lived experience and defines our way of being in the world.

Somatic coaching treats the body as a fundamental place of change, learning, and transformation Specifically we will: • Learn about the relationship between the “body” and the “self” • Explore how somatic awareness increases our capacity to tune in to our clients • Notice our habitual patterns of response as they show up in the body • Learn a specific practiceto bring ourselves present. Our speaker Dr Eunice Aquilina of eaconsult Eunice Aquilina is a certified somatic coach with Strozzi Institute who, prior to setting up her own consultancy, had over 20 years organisational experience working with individuals and leadership teams in complex commercial environments with multiple perspectives and pressures tackling major transitions. During her 10 years at the BBC, she led the key work-stream for coaching, mentoring and action learning and was instrumental in the development of their award winning internal coaching network, which delivered sustained behavioural change and attitudes across the BBC’s leadership population. Today, she works with directors and senior leaders supporting them to develop a strong authentic leadership presence, build skilful ways to cultivate trust, embody greater ease and connection and better manage their commitments and results. Eunice brings her strong business and behavioural knowledge combined with her understanding of organizational dynamics to her work in complex commercial environments across the world. She works in partnership with a range of global clients, to co-create learning solutions which support them to learn from real issues in real time, building new skills and behaviours for sustainable outcomes. Core to her work is her belief that organisations are organic living systems and their conversations shape and determine the culture, which in turn informs the results which can be achieved. Eunice has a Doctorate in Executive Coaching and OD and an MSc in Organisational Behaviour. In addition to her certification as a somatic coach Eunice has completed the Strozzi Institute three year teacher training programme as well as the advanced somatic bodywork programme. She is an accredited Executive Coach at Master Practitioner level with EMCC and an accredited Executive Coaching Supervisor with APECs.
