This is a morning workshop which demonstrates to delegates how to set up a WordPress website, the most common free open source software used for websites for new or small businesses – a quarter of all businesses use it. The workshop key elements include: Creating your sitemap – the basic fundamentals Writing your contact for impact Gathering images WordPress.com set up Purchasing domain names and connecting it to WordPress Adding images and content to the website Creating hyperlinks to other content on your site or to external sites Creating a contact form Adding contact details (Google Map) Linking social media accounts to the website Delegates with little or no previous experience of creating a website can benefit from attending the workshop. However delegates need to have experience of using a laptop / computer in a personal or business context and to regularly use and access the internet. It is recommended that delegates either be fairly confident with social media already, or have attended one of the Introduction to Social Media for Business that have been run in the previous two weeks around the county. The workshop will be delivered in an interactive manner through the "bring your own devices" operated by delegates, group discussion and exercises. Delegates are asked to bring laptops with up to date browsers if at all possible rather than mobile devices (e.g. Tablets and phones). Delegates will also be required to access their personal email accounts during the workshop. Delegates will be able to download all workshop materials after the event. Coffee and tea will be available from 9am. For details, link here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/setting-up-a-wordpresscom-microsite-bicester-registration-18774112877
