As part of Low Carbon Oxford Week, Julie’s Bicycle are pleased to be facilitating a half-day practical workshop at the Old Firestation. What does a sustainable future look like for the creative community? How will our practice flourish? How can we contribute to the emerging green economy? Join us to find out about how arts organisations and practitioners are embedding environmentally-sustainable practices to enhance their brand, develop relationships, and reduce their operational costs. You will have the opportunity to discuss these themes and re-imagine Oxford as a low-carbon hub, with creativity and culture at its centre. We will look at how creative companies, venues and event producers are benefiting from sustainability and saving money by re-valuing materials to reduce waste; driving demand for new green products and services; working with renewable energy; and adopting radical new business models. You will have the opportunity to share your experience, network with other local creatives, and come away with lots of inspiration, practical actions and big ideas to develop your organisation's sustainability. As an outcome of the workshop, Julie's Bicycle will also help you to create your very own environmental policy and action plan so that you can document, share and communicate your aspirations and record your actions for improvement.
