 What it takes to build a business. Colin Mayer, Fellow at Wadham College and Peter Moores Professor of Management Studies at the Saïd Business School will chair a panel discussion with Wadham alumni John McCall MacBain, OC, of the McCall MacBain Foundation, and Professor Heather Stevens, CBE, of the Waterloo Foundation in Wales. This will be followed by Q&A and a drinks reception. 

Heather Stevens CBE founded Admiral Insurance with David Stevens in Cardiff in 1993. Since its launch the company has grown to become one of the largest private sector employers in Wales with a turnover of more than £2bn. Heather has more recently founded The Waterloo Foundation (TWF) with her husband David in 2007 and this organisation has supported a variet of charitable initiatives since then. John McCall MacBain founded Trader Classified Media, the McCall MacBain Foundation and Pamoja Capital SA, following his studies at Harvard and Oxford University. Trader Classified Media is one of the largest advertising companies in the world with 575 print titles and 56 websites in 20 countries under the umbrella. The company lists over 25 million items of content in 90 million ads each year.
