Join this information session to learn more about Map the System. Map the System is a chance for students and recent graduates to learn more about the issues they care about and present their findings to the world.
Tackling global challenges starts with understanding a problem and its wider context, rather than jumping straight into a business plan or an idea for a quick fix. Participants are asked to demonstrate a deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental issue by mapping out the landscape of the current solutions and identifying missing opportunities for positive change.
All Oxford University students and recent graduates are invited to apply for Map the System. There are cash prizes on offer for the top 3 Oxford entries, plus one winning team will be invited to take part in the Global Final in Oxford on 1 – 3 June 2018, where they will present their findings alongside teams from around the world. Here, they will compete for up to £3,000 in prize money, and Emerge 2018 tickets with travel subsidy. All Oxford Map the System participants will have an opportunity to apply for further funding to directly ‘apprentice with a problem’ in a global location relating to their chosen topic.
Registration for the challenge closes on 8 January 2018. You can compete in a team of 1-5. Join this information session to learn more. mapthesystem.sbs.ox.ac.uk
