Until recently three dimensional computer aided design and modelling technology has been the sole preserve of large organisations, however the move to cloud computing and the availability of inexpensive 3D printing devices has put amazing ‘Maker’ capabilities in the hands of many. Houses, entire cars and even medical parts for heart surgery. Makers 3D Oxford Technology & Media is delighted to welcome Stephen Chadwick, Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes Northern Europe in a session chaired by White October’s Chris Thorpe.

Many of you will know the Dassault name from the world of military fighter jets, and yet the 3D and business modelling technology that Dassault Systèmes have developed has become an industry standard for many organisations. Stephen will talk about the value chain from product conception, design and testing right to fabrication facilities and the role of the maker in society. Communal maker facilities are not nearly as widespread in the UK as other parts of Europe and the event will also explore what is required for Oxford to build its very own maker facility.Maker skate We look forward to seeing you there!
