22-23 September 2 day event
IndieWebCamp is a weekend gathering of web creators building & sharing their own websites to advance the independent web and empower ourselves and others to take control of our identities and data.
It is open to all skill levels, from people who want to get started with a web site, through to experienced developers wanting to tackle a specific personal project. This is the first IndieWebCamp in Oxford. IndieWebCamp is a 2-day event. Day 1 starts with introductions, demos, and IndieWeb building blocks, then BarCamp-style brainstorming and discussion sessions: Day 2 make things on and for your personal site! Collaborate with others or work on your own to improve at least one thing on your personal site, no matter how small or how epic. IndieWebCamp is for independent web creators of all kinds, and all levels, from graphic artists, to designers, UX engineers, coders; to share ideas, actively work on creating for their own personal websites, and build upon each others creations. If you're new to the IndieWeb, check out the web site and join in the discussion with other members on IRC or Slack. Special thanks to our sponsors for the event! Haybrook IT and White October. FAQs Do you have a Code of Conduct? Yes we do. As the organisers are members of Digital Oxford, our Code of Conduct can be found here. What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? The White October offices are just off Cowley Road, which is well served by major bus routes from all over Oxford. We really wouldn't recommend driving in. Oxford is not at all car friendly. Is the venue accessible? Yes. The White October offices are wheelchair accessible, with toilet facilities, and off-street parking if required. How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Please feel free to poke Garrett on Twitter, or via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
