Research indicates that emerging and frontier markets are the primary target for impact investments. Daniel Izzo, and Sam Nwanze are both Oxford Impact Investing Programme guest faculty. They will be sharing their perspectives on locally-driven impact investing and social finance designed to spur economic development and entrepreneurship across Brazil and Africa respectively. Sam will outline ways Heirs Holdings and its partner, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, are building a new model to maximize economic development and social innovation; including building the East Africa Exchange (a regional commodities exchange) and developing pipelines for local enterprises in agriculture, health care, and education. Daniel will explore how his pioneering work with Brazil’s first impact investing venture capital firm has identified high potential startups and early stage businesses serving the Brazilian low income population, and the solutions they have provided to improve lives. Sam is the Chief Investment Officer at Heirs Holding, Nigeria, and a Board Member of the Global Impact Investors Network (GIIN); and Daniel is the Executive Director, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Vox Capital.
