2 October 17.30

Are you a research scientist (D.Phil or Postdoc), a medical student, a clinician or a medical researcher? This one is for you! Join us on October 2nd 2018 for a fireside chat with Jason Lettiere (Healthcare Investment, Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and learn about what the investment community wants from entrepreneurial science.

What is your scientific excellence worth, and who would value it most? Can your skillset and research expertise unlock your innovative potential in the celebrated yet seemingly elusive world of scientific entrepreneurship? Are you equipped to drive a great idea along the path to becoming a commercial success and perhaps the next billion-dollar company? Organised by Innovation Forum Oxford, the event will be hosted at the Said Business School by Perspectum Diagnostics, Oxford’s fastest-growing spinout. In this candid conversation you'll get the perspective of an Oxford-grown scientific success and a transatlantic view on the value of your scientific/medical training in business. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand about the skills and mindset of a resarcher at the centre stage of innovation as the speakers share their personal stories and discuss: – The pros and cons of academic entrepreneurs from Wall Street – Common pitfalls in translating science – What investment partners make sense at what stage? The session will begin with refreshments and time to network with fellow innovative thinkers and hosts. The evening will be brought to a close with an opportunity to informally ask the speakers any burning questions you may have.
