Hackfe5t is a new bi-annual cyber safety event based at Mansfield College, Oxford. It is an opportunity for members of the KLipcorp network, ethical hackers, cyber specialists and those concerned with being cyber safe to discuss new developments, share ideas and network.
Hackfe5t is relevant for those in the professions, industry and government who need to understand the evolving cyber threat landscape and build contacts in the cyber community. Recent enforcement action by the Information Commisioners Office (ICO) and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) increase the importance of engaging with these issues. The first event is scheduled for Thursday, December 15th, 2016 ( 2.30pm – 5pm) and the key topic is “The role of insurance in managing cyber risk – the limits of liability”. Ed Vaizey MP and BoxingGuru, former IP pirate and hacker, will be presenting as well as representatives from the Police and the University of Abertay School of Computer Science. Hackfe5t is being run in association with the BCS Chartered Institute of IT internet specialist group.
