This lunchtime workshop starts with an inspirational keynote talk by a successful academic entrepreneur followed by lunch over an interactive workshop, as we dig into what it takes to be a successful female entrepreneur and what will support others who wish to follow this path.

Ask someone in the street to name an entrepreneur and more often than not they name a man. But women are out there in research, corporate settings and start ups being successful – and many of them are in Oxford! This lunchtime workshop will start with some inspiration from Prof Dame Carol Robinson as she shares her insights on successfully combining academic and entrepreneurial achievement. Over lunch we will work in small groups to identify some of the key opportunities and obstacles to women succeeding in enterprise and entrepreneurial ventures, and what else Oxford can do to support our researchers to take this path successfully. This workshop is the starting point of a joint programme being run by MPLS Women's Network and MPLS Enterprise.
