Distinguished Speaker Seminar – Seth Rogin "If You're Reading This Now, It's Too Late" Thursday 22 October 2015, 17:30 As Mashable's Chief Revenue Officer, Seth Rogin will be discussing what the company is doing to change the media model using predictive analytics to power both journalistic and brand storytelling. Mashable’s proprietary technology, Velocity, precisely forecasts the sharing potential of millions of pieces of content, often within moments of when they are published, regardless of location. Rogin will discuss how technology intersects with Mashable’s mission, and is empowering them to create a new generation of media brand. There will be a drinks reception following the seminar. More about the speaker: Seth Rogin is Mashable's Chief Revenue Officer, driving the rapid growth of a diverse revenue portfolio. Seth joined Mashable in June 2013. Previously, Seth worked for The New York Times for 13 years in various positions, as Vice President of Advertising from 2006 until 2013. Most recently, he led sales for the fast-growing mobile and tablet offerings. Seth was responsible for sales and business operations of The New York Times Magazine and T, The New York Times Style Magazine, including the creation and highly successful launch of its first website. His career is a record of digital firsts and resilient multi-platform brand growth. A leader in media across platforms, Seth is often called upon to speak at conferences in the US, the UK, Italy, France, and Spain, as well as at universities and to the staff of leading brands including Google, Condé Nast, McCann Worldwide, and PHD. In 2014, he was featured in Travel & Leisure Magazine, and was named "CRO of the Year" by Media Industry Newsletter. He was inducted into MIN's Media Sales Hall of Fame in September, 2015. Since 2014, Seth has been Lead Advisor to BattleShop, the first digital fantasy shopping league. In 2015, he joined the inaugural advisory board of The Jerry Garcia Foundation. Seth serves on the Board of Directors of the Ad Council, as well as the Advisory Councils of Advertising Week New York and Europe, and the UK Digital Media Strategy conference. He is the current New York co-chair of fwd.us, an organization founded by Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and others to advocate for US immigration reform to encourage innovation in science and technology. He also served for four years on the Education Foundation for the Fashion Industries, benefiting FIT. Seth served for three years on the Executive Committee of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women NY event and was honoured as their first male "Luminary" in 2014.
