Saïd Business School is pleased to welcome Ann Ziff, Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera, to speak at the School on Thursday 5 October. Ann Ziff will be sharing her personal life story, from being the daughter of famed American opera singer Harriet Henders, to philanthropy and fundraising and the Metropolitan Opera.
Ms Ziff will discuss fundraising as the backbone of philanthropy in the U.S.A and its relationship between board governance and board recruitment. She will also touch upon volunteerism in general, which, in her view, is a crucial part of all charitable organisations.
About the event The seminar is open for anyone to attend and will take place at Saïd Business School followed by a short networking drinks reception until around 7:30pm. Please remember that registration is required to attend this event.
About the speaker Tamsen Ann Ziff is Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera. She is a vice chairman of both the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Artist Tribe Foundation. She currently serves on the boards of the American Museum of Natural History, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles Opera Company, the New York Restoration Project, Sing for Hope, and World Science Festival, as well as the advisory board of WonderWork. Ms Ziff is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas and Friends of Asian Art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is the founder and producer of the Caribbean Community Theater in St. Croix. Ms Ziff has a Masters in Social Work from New York University and a Masters in Music Therapy from Temple University, Philadelphia, where she is a Visiting Professor of Music and Dance at Boyer College. She was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities from Wittenberg University, Ohio.
