A four-module programme exploring the personal foundations of leadership. Our approach digs deeper into listening and meaningful, productive dialogue. Taking material that has been used in international programs across the world, in 2016, we have brought this to Oxford for the first time. This is a joint project of Inside Change and Initiatives of Change.
Much of our learning focuses on knowledge and competition between ideas. Often less attention is given to the root causes of conflict, and why it’s so easy to see where we are right and where the other person is wrong; intellectually and morally. Taking place on Wednesdays from 7pm-9.30pm. These modules build on each other, so you will need to commit to the whole programme, please. Registration for this event includes registering for each week's module. What determines the character of my leadership? Week 1: Change starts with me | narrative and perceptions – why sense isn’t common (27 April) Week 2: Dialogue in diversity | moving from my worldview to the other’s – ‘generative’ listening (4 May) Week 3: Focused action | partnering and collaboration – building active trust (11 May) Week 4: Leadership | a framework for addressing my blindspots (18 May) Facilitator | the programme will be facilitated by Rob Lancaster, who has seven years experience in trustbuilding initiatives and facilitation around the world. You can read more here. Methodology | the program will be based primarily on group learning and participatory methods, grounded in a smaller amount of content. Further reading and resources will be made available. We hope you can make it.
