The program is a pan-European initiative sponsored by EIT Health which aims to give you a solid foundation to start planning an entrepreneurial venture based on a research topic of your interest. As a program participant you receive coaching and training throughout the process and are introduced to the challenges of innovating in health care and ways in which to overcome those challenges. Experienced instructors from some of Europe’s leading institutions on health care innovation will guide you through topics such as market need identification and validation; solution concept generation and validation; how to navigate intellectual property, regulatory, and reimbursement complexities; and business development.
During the Training Camp you will get the opportunity to network with likeminded PhD students from the following partner universities, and more:

If selected, you will receive a 5,000 EUR grant towards the commercialization and further development of your idea, as well as a 1,500 EUR travel & accommodation grant to participate in the Training Camp at the University of Oxford on August 5-16 along with other selected participants from across Europe. During the training camp you will engage in lectures, workshops, and networking activities and the camp will conclude with a pitch competition where the winners will receive cash prizes of up to 3,000 € in six separate prize categories.
At the end of the program you will have a clear understanding of the requirements for building and de-risking an entrepreneurial venture within the health sector.
Three PhD students from the University of Oxford will be selected to represent the university at the Training Camp in Oxford, UK on August 5-16. The selected students will receive 5,000 EUR in commercialisation support, a 1,500 EUR travel grant to participate in the Training Camp, and the possibility to win additional prizes of up to 3,000 EUR at the Training Camp pitch competition. The selection process is in two stages (1) written application and (2) local pitch competition.
In order to be eligible to apply you need to:
• …currently be enrolled as a DPhil student at the University of Oxford
• …have finished your 1st year DPhil
• …be researching a topic related to health or health care
• …be able to attend the whole Training Camp in Oxford, UK on August 5-16

Local pitch competition
If your written application is successful you will be invited to the University of Oxford pitch competition on Thursday, June 20th at 9:00-12:00.
In the evenings of June 17th or 18th a pitch training workshop will be organised for all students who have been selected to pitch in the local competition.

Training Camp & Final Pitch Competition
Only the Local pitch awardees will have the opportunity to attend the two week training camp in Oxford (5th to 16th August). At the final day of the program there will be a final pitch competition, where a EITHealth jury will assess the 10 min pitches according to the same above mentioned criteria to select awards for the best candidates up to six categories up to 3.000€ per category.
