Cancer is a disease that affects many people across our society with one in two being diagnosed with a type of cancer during their lifetime. Clinical developments driven by scientific research have already changed the lives of many suffering from this disease, but there continues to be an urgent need for fresh breakthroughs in cancer drug development. To maximise the opportunity for new innovations and thus bring the right therapies to the right patients faster, it is vital that we evolve the pharmaceutical clinical-development operating model.

The competition is directed at early-stage ventures aiming at developing new molecules for cancer treatment and is kindly supported by Cancer Research UK. You could be a clinician, a postdoctoral researcher, an established professor, a virtual biotech or even a student – it is the quality of the idea that counts, not your position. The competition is open to those seeking to further characterise or validate their drug target using cellular and molecular assays. Join this global endeavour to find new drugs and bring them to market faster!

BioTarget also aims to raise awareness for entrepreneurship and innovation amongst scientists. It allows you to showcase your innovation to a great audience, meet leading Biotech investors and industry professionals that can help you move your idea forward.

From all applications received, BioTarget will select the 8 most promising submissions, and invite you to a pitch event in London, UK.

Win several hundred free experiments conducted in Arctoris’ cloud lab for the three winners, which will be equal to one year of lab work (worth $100k for the first place)!

In addition to free experimentation, the three top winners will benefit from the BioTarget’s partners’ business support. This means free IP training, hands-on business mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs and executives, and access to a leading network of bio-entrepreneurs and investors.

The top 50 applicants join an exclusive network, and will be prominently featured on the Science Entrepreneur Club social media channels. In addition, the top 8 applicants will be invited to attend the pitch-day event in London.
