Join us for a session on “Venture building in the Oxford Ecosystem”.
We will approach this topic from different perspectives, namely:
- Ecosystem support: Maria Zubeldia, Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre, that runs several programmes to facilitate venture building and related education in the Oxford ecosystem. She will also discuss some new developments in entrepreneurial support.
- Scale-up venture: Carolyn Hicks, co-founder and COO/CFO of Brill Power, a battery intelligence company that uses electronics to improve performance and reduce battery waste – Brill Power just successfully raised 8 million in funding. (Oxford MBA 2014)
- Start-up venture: Nick Shipley, co-founder of Jack Fertility, an Oxford-based male fertility startup developing the UK’s first mail-in sperm test. Recently launched, and award winning in several start-up competitions. (Oxford MBA 2019)
During this panel discussion we will discuss what it is like to operate at the coalface of Science and Business, share best practices, hear about founder journeys, and the latest developments in the support that offered in the Oxford ecosystem.
This event will also offer the opportunity to meet like-minded people working on ventures, considering to build ventures, or are just curious about entrepreneurship and innovation.
