Pick up some practical ideas for making animated videos a part of your marketing strategy, with Jolt Studio’s Animation Director, Wes West

About this event

This month’s speaker is Wes West, Animation Director at Jolt Studio, who lives in Witney, has a penchant for 1960s lifestyle illustration, and collects photos of every ice cream he eats.

He’ll be chatting to us about why animation can be a valuable part of our marketing plan and how to go about creating effective, attention-grabbing animated videos. We’ll spend a bit of time thinking about the strategy side – figuring out what you want to achieve, understanding what makes a good video (animated or not), and deciding if it’s a good fit for your business or campaign. Then we’ll drill down into the practicalities – like how to work well with an animation company or freelancer, how to pull together ideas for a script and storyboard, and how to make the most of the finished product.

How our gatherings tend to go

6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and – let’s face it – probably at least some small talk about the weather

6.30-7.15pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human

7.15-7.30pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)

7.30-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat, generally about more relevant and helpful stuff than the weather by this point

Hosted by local brand voice crafter Bethany Joy, in partnership with lovely HR and talent specialists Pink Giraffe and the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.

*Tickets are free, but it’s still marvellously helpful if you book one – that way we’ve got an idea of who’s coming on the night. Hope to see you there 🙂
