Join us for a fireside chat and Q&A with Mark Pollock, subject of acclaimed documentary ‘Unbreakable’. The first in the new Trailblazer Chronicles series, a partnership between the Oxford Foundry, Said Business School’s Entrepreneurship Centre and Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship.

About Mark Pollock

Unbroken by blindness in 1998 and a paralysing fall in 2010, Mark went on to compete in ultra endurance races across deserts, mountains, and the polar ice caps. He was the first blind person to race to the South Pole and won silver and bronze medals for rowing at the Commonwealth Games. He is the Co-founder of the global running series Run in the Dark. Mark is a globally renowned motivational speaker – his TED Talk has been viewed over 1.7 million times and he is a speaker at Davos and Wired among many others, and set up a motivational speaking business. With his fiancée, Simone George, he is the subject of the acclaimed documentary Unbreakable. He is the Author of ‘Making it Happen.’

Mark is now exploring the intersection where humans and technology collide and through the Mark Pollock Trust is unlocking $1 billion to cure paralysis in our lifetime.

Selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader and appointed to the Global Futures Council on Human Enhancement, Pollock is a UBS Global Visionary, is on the Board of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and is a Wings for Life Ambassador.

Mark has been awarded honorary doctorates by The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and from Queens University Belfast. He holds a diploma in Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century from Harvard University as well as degrees from Trinity College Dublin and The Smurfit Business School.
