Kickstarter co-founder and former CEO, Yancey Strickler will share insights into his journey as an entrepreneur.
The Trailblazer Chronicles is a joint speaker series between the Entrepreneurship Centre at Saïd Business School, the Oxford Foundry and the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. This speaker series seeks to invite on campus high profile individuals who are pioneers of their personal journey, business or industry.

This academic year’s theme is Collective Power. In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to bring together our collective strength and build a more equitable future for all. It is within our power to elevate and support groups that contribute to the advancement of a better society.

We are joined by one of the leaders of the crowdfunding revolution, Kickstarter co-founder and former CEO, Yancey Stickler. He is an expert in disruptive innovation, acclaimed author, and a passionate advocate of responsible business through his new book This Could Be Our Future: A Manifesto for a More Generous World. Yancey began his career as a music critic in New York City and grew up on a farm in Clover Hollow, Virginia. The London Spectator called him ‘one of the least obnoxious tech evangelists ever.’

He will share insights into his journey as an entrepreneur, the dangers of financial maximisation, why we should give greater consideration to our future selves and how we can create a more abundant society.
