Hear from an expert panel on how they faced and tackled the challenges of scaling globally

About this event

Fundraising and recruitment is the biggest challenges for scaling businesses. There is so much support to build a team to say 10, but when that investment comes in and they need to scale from 10 to 100 that’s really hard!

We would like to invite you to join in the conversation and hear from our expert panel, who will share their experiences on how they have tackled, faced and overcome challenges around the following topics:

  • Maintaining the culture that exists within a small team, when recruiting and expanding the business.
  • Promoting your business Worldwide to attract the best talent.
  • How to encourage talent from overseas to work with a UK company, particularly when salaries are higher; for example, in the USA.
  • Managing teams around the World remotely.

Futrli has developed a next generation, instant and hybrid cloud forecasting software as a plug and play using powerful algorithms analysing every transaction, identifying patterns, Covid effects and behaving like an early warning system for business owners. Dr Mark Larkin established Vitaccess in Oxford in 2017 to offer international real-world evidence (RWE) solutions to the biopharmaceutical market via smartphone apps and data science. Working with patients and their advocates around the world, Vitaccess is currently running studies in oncology, rare diseases and chronic illnesses. In just four years, the company has been recognized by Tech Nation in their Rising Stars and Upscale 6.0 programmes and received loan backing from Innovate UK for the next generation of its product suite and the team has grown to 50 experts in health economics, patient-centred science, product development, data science and localization. Prior to Vitaccess, Mark was a founding partner of a specialist market access company and has led global projects across a broad range of therapeutic areas.

Adam Hildreth is founder and CEO of Crisp, the most trusted provider of 24/7/365 early-warning risk intelligence. He started his first business at the age of 14, becoming the youngest ever UK CEO by founding Dubit, a pioneering social media network, which became one of the most popular destinations for UK teenagers. Dubit was one of the earliest companies to implement online safety technology, which inspired Adam’s vision for Crisp.

Adam went on to work with the UK government to develop the first online child protection laws in 2005; he then left Dubit to set up Crisp. Today his relentless focus on helping to create a digital world that is safe for everyone includes leading brands, global enterprises and social media platforms, for which Crisp protects more than $4.5 trillion of combined market capitalisation. As part of his ongoing commitment to online safety, Adam is a founding member of the Online Industry Safety Association (OSTIA). He also has been included in PRWeek’s Dashboard 25: Class of 2021, and previously he was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards, GP Bullhound Northern Tech Young Entrepreneur Award as well as being an active member of the Arthur Page Society.
