User Experience: Developing user-centered practices – from start-ups to large corporations
A Voices from the Valley Masterclass with Start Up Mentor Jenny Gove
This masterclass from Google UX Research Lead and Start up Mentor Jenny Gove will explore the organization, practices and principles of User Experience (UX). You’ll learn about the roles of UX professionals (and their backgrounds), what a day-in-the-life of a UX Designer, Researcher, Content Strategist and UX Engineer look like, and how they work with Product Managers and Engineers, to develop user-focused products. You will learn about how you can bring user-centered design work into a small start-up environment, and you’ll also take away an understanding of what a UX team looks like in large tech companies like Google.
Jenny Gove is a User Experience Research Lead at Google, where she conducts research on device use. Jenny’s current area of focus is online Payments. Previously Jenny managed the Apps, Social, and Ads Design Research teams at Google. Prior affiliations includes Sun Microsystems, Zadu (start-up), and the Open University, UK.
