Join us and Jamie Foster from Hill Dickinson LLP to explore the challenges of protecting Intellectual Property.

Jamie Foster, Partner and Commercial Lawyer at Hill Dickinson Health LLP and specialist in the health and care sector, will be talking to HealthTech startups about what Intellectual Property (IP) is and how to protect it.

Jamie has vast experience in contracts, collaborations and transactions for medtech, biotech, NHS and private healthcare businesses.

Jamie will cover: –

Intellectual Property 101 – what is Intellectual Property and what rights arise from it, including for software products including AI
Working with developers, collaborators and funders: how to protect and exploit your IP
What to consider at different stages of development of your product

Jamie is a commercial lawyer specialising in the health and life sciences sectors. Clients include listed healthcare and innovation companies, biotech businesses, NHS organisations involved in R&D and medtech startups.

Jamie advises clients on contracting, intellectual property, collaborations, and navigating the commercial and regulatory frameworks for medtech and biotech startups. He is currently working on collaborations between the NHS and industry relating to data-driven technologies and delivering the digital ambitions of the NHS Long Term plan.

Jamie is a member of Tech London Advocates (Healthtech group) and frequently presents on life sciences issues, including for the South East Health Technologies Alliance. He has contributed to a number of publications this year including contributing to SEHTAs “Accessing the NHS: A guide for SMEs” publication and to Hill Dickinson’s “A short guide to regulation for disruptive technologies” (including artificial intelligence).
