A packed agenda working with experts and peers, devising strategies to ride out the economic downturn and thrive as markets recover

As UK inflation hits a 41-year high and the prospect of a global recession looms, business owners face enormous economic uncertainty. The temptation can be to adopt radical cost cutting measures, reduce headcount, and shelve investment in innovation; however, these responses can result in a loss of strategic focus, reduced competitive advantage, and prolonged periods of ‘basic survival’.

Short, shallow, prolonged, deep … these are all words the media uses to describe the recession that awaits the economy. The only certainty is that, in time it will pass, all recessions do, the economy is cyclical. Clients will still have needs, disposable income and company budgets will return; and those companies who have laid the foundations to thrive post-recession will be best placed to capitalise on the upturn.

Some amazingly successful companies have been born from the adversity of recession; whilst many have not only emerged from survival mode quickly but gone on to achieve growth exceeding pre-recession levels. We believe that with the right strategies and expert insights, Oxfordshire businesses can replicate this success.

Therefore, we have assembled an impressive list of experts and speakers to facilitate an event at Begbroke Science Park, designed specifically to equip local business owners and entrepreneurs with the knowhow and confidence to survive the economic downturn and thrive as markets recover. Evidence shows that companies emerging stronger from recessions are those that avoid kneejerk cost cutting strategies, refuse to forego innovation, double down on what they do best, and maintain high levels of customer experience and communication.

Throughout the day there will be presentations, roundtable sessions chaired by specialists, and opportunities to network with your peers. We will be exploring mindsets and planning, financial discipline, refining company focus, agility and responsiveness, customer experience and advocacy, stakeholder communication, managing talent and productivity, offensive strategies, innovation, investing in commercial growth, and much more.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be a hugely insightful and productive day. Places are limited so please register soon to avoid disappointment.

How to attend
