There will be a mixture of presentations from both internal and external speakers, alongside opportunities to share experiences, challenges and questions through small-group discussion.

10.05 – 10.55 – Sharing experiences of establishing mentoring schemes in the University – panel presentation and Q&A featuring Professional Services Mentoring Scheme, and School of Geography and the Environment mentoring scheme

11.10 – 11.50 – Small group discussions: Challenges of establishing, running and sustaining mentoring schemes and how to address these.

11.50 – 12.20 – Making mentoring schemes sustainable: why networks play a role (Dr Judie Gannon, Senior Lecturer, International Centre for Coaching and Mentoring Studies, Oxford Brookes University)

12.20 – 13.00 – Small group discussions: The future of mentoring at Oxford.

Speaker bio

Dr Judie Gannon leads the Doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring in the International Centre for Coaching & Mentoring Studies (ICCaMS) in the Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford Brookes University, UK. She has operated a range of different mentoring initiatives and acts as an advocate for mentoring and coaching programme managers. Judie is the editor in chief of the peer-reviewed International Journal of Evidence Based Coaching and Mentoring and her research interests, publications and consultancy cover the areas of sustainability and activism as part of coaching and mentoring interventions.
