Call for expressions of interest
Building on the success of the “Meet the Clinician – Cancer Day” event, The Hill Oxford and Oxford AHSN are holding a special two-part event for innovators and digital health companies developing innovation in mental health support, care, and treatment. The decision was made to focus this event on male mental health as traditionally men may not find it easy to access help and support in this area of health care and recognises tt help seeking can be a gendered issue. A “one size fits all” approach often mean that men don’t consider a treatment or service as being for them.
We have brought together a panel of people and staff with experience around mental healthcare services to discuss a range of issues within this field and to explore ways that the health system might better engage with men; specifically addressing issues around male help-seeking for mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
This wide-ranging discussion will touch upon service delivery, adoption of new technology, potential male-friendly pathways for patient care, barriers to seeking treatment, challenges to engagement, prevention, self-management, and more.
The first workshop will be a clinician and expert by experience led discussion on 28th September, focusing on understanding the different challenges, unmet needs and opportunities around seeking and accessing mental healthcare services for men through the clinician and patient lens.
The second workshop to be held on 12th October will be a follow up innovator led session, where companies can pitch their proposition to the specialists.
Innovators and Health Tech Entrepreneurs and SMEs, and those with an interest in mental health; particularly male mental health are invited to register their interest.
This event will be hosted online on Zoom.
