Join Magdalen College on Wednesday 20th May at 6pm for a live webinar from alumni Stephen Newton and R.A. Williams on “What do entrepreneurs need now? Entrepreneurship during COVID-19 and beyond”.

The Governor of the Bank of England predicts that the impact of COVID-19 on the UK economy will be greater than anything experienced in over 300 years.  It is clear that those starting or running their own businesses will now face even greater challenges with everything from investment to marketing to operations.

In this webinar, Magdalen alumni, Stephen Newton and R.A.Williams, will draw on their experience to start a conversation about what it looks like to run your own business at this time in terms of finances, personal capital (like resourcefulness and resilience) and operational capacity.

They will also suggest ways in which entrepreneurs might leverage what they have and call upon others to help protect and even grow their businesses through and beyond the current situation. There will be opportunities for attendees to participate in the conversation via Q&A and further discussion.

The webinar will also flag a new way in which current members of College and Magdalen alumni who are engaged in entrepreneurship, enterprise and innovation will be able to collaborate and support one another going forward. This talk forms part of the Magdalen Means Business event series for those interested in entrepreneurship, enterprise and innovation. More information.

Contact alumni.office@magd.ox.ac.uk to book – the webinar link will be shared with registrants beforehand. This talk will be recorded and the recording will be shared with participants and upon request.
