Everything we do begins with thinking. If our thinking is good, our decisions are good, our actions are good, our outcomes are good.

So, what does it take for us to think for ourselves – with rigour, imagination, courage and grace? After years of observation we have noticed that the single most important factor in whether people can think for themselves well is how they are being treated by the people with them while they are thinking. Ten behaviours seem to help the most. We call them The Ten Components of a Thinking Environment®.

To embody them is to be a Thinking Environment® for people around you. To apply them to the structures of work with people in pairs and groups is to improve the quality of everyone’s thinking and of the outcome of every interaction. A Thinking Environment® not only produces the best practical results of people’s time together. It also dignifies, lifts and lets soar the human mind and spirit.

What is a Thinking Environment® and how can it support your Leadership and Team Engagement Aspirations?

A Thinking Environment® is a way of being, that helps team and organisations explore and practice the ways everyday work and business communication structures such as meetings, dialogue, discussion, consultation, presentations, facilitation, interviews, resolving conflict and working with colleagues and staff can be transformed into clear-thinking, invigorating, positive experiences.

This way of being is centred on 10 Components, that employed individual (or better still) together, create the environment where great, “new” and original thinking is born! Inclusive Leadership, through The Thinking Environment® Webinar Led by Stuart Gillis (Time To Think Accredited Facilitator and Leadership Development Coach) we will explore the 10 Components of a Thinking Environment® and (more importantly) how they can support you and your organisation to become more efficient, effective, productive and profitable, through improved team engagement.
