Learn how to make everyday marketing decisions that play a part in saving the planet with Richard Boon, CEO of Webmart.
This month’s speaker is Richard Boon, CEO of Webmart. Richard lives in Woodstock and enjoys wandering around Blenheim Palace, pandering to a rescue cat that rules his house, and taste-testing a wide variety of chilli sauces. Now 35, he’s been working with Webmart since the tender age of 18!
He’ll be talking to us about how our marketing work can play its part in growing a more sustainable business. Marketing is a tool often linked to high consumption – but it doesn’t have to be that way. So Richard will be introducing us to some of the key insights and practical tools we can use to fight climate change with both our day-to-day decisions and wider strategy.
We’ll kick off by looking at the big picture, thinking about changes we can make in our marketing habits, policies, and behaviour that will have impact in the longer term. Then we’ll dig into the details, exploring some very specific short-term actions that can influence change now, without costing the earth (both planet and budget.) And Richard will be unpacking all this in a way that breaks down the jargon, dispels the myths, and keeps things super-practical.
Plus we’ll be thinking through how you can measure the impact of these changes, as well as how to sell a more sustainable approach to your boss, your board, and your clients or customers.

How our gatherings usually go
🍻 6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and – let’s face it – probably at least some small talk about the weather
🧑🏫 6.30-7.30pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion
🤓 7.30-7.45pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)
🍻 7.45-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat, hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point
Hosted by brand voice strategist Bethany Joy, in partnership with the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.
*Tickets are free (the best flavour) but it’s still super helpful if you book one, so we’ve got a rough idea of who’s coming on the night. Hope to see you there 😁
