Explore the potential of business publishing with Rosie Jacobs & Annabel Lee, creators of the Indie Oxford magazine, and author Tom Hindle.
This month around the campfire we’ll be chatting all things publishing with Rosie Jacobs and Annabel Lee, creators of the Indie Oxford magazine, and Tom Hindle, author of novels A Fatal Crossing and The Murder Game.
As the digital realm becomes more and more crowded, lots of businesses are looking at how they can make their mark offline. Whether that means launching a branded magazine, publishing research papers or reports, or supporting your CEO as they write a book, the world of publishing offers unique opportunities to reach people in the physical world.
So we’ll be learning lessons from Rosie, Annabel, and Tom firsthand – from hearing about their journey to publication and the things they wished they’d known at the start through to what foundations make publishing most likely to be a successful route and some of the practicalities of marketing physical publications. We’ll start with an informal panel discussion before opening things up for questions and wider conversation.
(Plus we’ll be giving away a signed copy of Tom’s newest novel to one lucky camper!)

How our gatherings usually go
🍻 6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and – let’s face it – probably at least some small talk about the weather
🧑🏫 6.15-7.15pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion
🤓 7.15-7.30pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)
🍻 7.30-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat, hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point
Hosted by brand voice strategist Bethany Joy, in partnership with the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.
*Tickets are free (the best flavour) but it’s still super helpful if you book one, so we’ve got a rough idea of who’s coming on the night. Hope to see you there 😁
