This month’s speaker isĀ Emma Huntly,Ā freelance business and marketing consultant. Emma lives in Summertown, enjoys growing fruit in her garden (and making crumble with the harvest), and is learning that being a ‘soccer mom’ – her daughter plays for the Summertown Stars – isn’t actually as bad as she feared.

She’ll be helping us get to grips with the world of partnership marketing, setting out how and why brand partnerships can benefit your business and what it takes to make them work.

We’ll start with the basics – things like understanding the different types and levels of partnership, how to set boundaries and goals for collaborations, and how to make sure you’re building a proper relationship that’s different from simple sponsorship. Emma will also talk us through a good mix of examples and case studies of great partnerships and why they worked.

Then we’ll finish up with some really practical tips, like what to look for in a potential brand partner, what to avoid, and exactly what’s needed to make sure a collaboration succeeds.

How our gatherings usually go

šŸ» 6pm:Ā Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and – let’s face it – probably at least some small talk about the weather

šŸ§‘ā€šŸ« 6.15-7.15pm:Ā A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion

šŸ¤“ 7.15-7.30pm:Ā It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)

šŸ» 7.30-8pm:Ā More (still free) drinks and fun chat, hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point

Hosted by brand voice strategistĀ Bethany Joy, in partnership with the fantasticĀ Oxford College of Marketing.

*Tickets are free (the best flavour) but it’s still super helpful if you book one, so we’ve got a rough idea of who’s coming on the night. Hope to see you there 😁
