OxWEST and OxWoCS have teamed up with GirlsWhoML to deliver an introductory workshop on how to get started with Python. The course is aimed at complete beginners, so if you have no experience in programming or computer science then this workshop is designed just for you. All you need is a laptop, internet connection and an interest in learning programming and Python.
In the virtual workshop we will combine a lecture with exercises in a Jupyter Notebook. The lecture will consist of very simple explanations about programming and show you how to program in Python. There will then be an exercise period where you will be implementing topics that you’ve just learned in the lecture, giving you hands on experience with Python. Better yet, there will be a number of demonstrators present to help you out if you get stuck. We keep it fun and friendly, there’s absolutely no pressure to complete the exercises, we just want to help you to get started with programming!
If you are interested in learning more about programming and machine learning, GirlsWhoML runs a five part “introduction to Machine Learning” course over the Christmas term break. Sign-ups are now open on: https://t.co/0tcTDPbI6g?amp=1 (only limited places available!)
