Join us to discover the talents that people with disabilities can bring to YOUR business and learn how to recruit a diverse workforce.

About this Event
There are 7.6m working age people in the UK with a disability, how many work in your business?
The Disability Confident scheme supports employers like you to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to your workplace.

Organisations who are disability confident can help play a leading role in changing behaviour and culture though inclusive and diverse recruitment practices. This event is about showing you how and dispelling common myths associated with dealing with disability in the workplace. Such as a fear that it is costly, time consuming or that a person with a disability cannot perform tasks as well.

At this event you will:

Learn what support is available to help you recruit, train and retain staff
Understand what provider options are available to help you e.g. Access to Work
Hear from keynote speakers including Angie Matthews from the Business Disability Forum
Network with like-minded employers from the region
Speak to training providers and organisations who can place and train a talent pool
See real-life examples of this work in practice, including how it has benefited both employee and business
The event is being delivered in partnership by Activate Learning, Oxfordshire Business First, OxLEP, and Job Centre Plus and and will be held at Unipart House on the 5th December between 08:30 – 12:30.

Breakfast rolls, teas, coffees, fruit & biscuits will be provided.
Come along and help dispel the myths about employing disabled people and find out about the support available.
