Do you know the difference between a worker, an employee, a consultant and a director? Is it ok for the founder to work for free? What considerations should you have when offering remote, flexible or hybrid working? How do you incentivise a team? What if your ideal candidate is based overseas? Do you know what to do (and what not to do) when a recruit doesn’t work out?

Sue Staunton, from accountancy firm James Cowper Kreston, and Nicola McConville from law firm Taylor Vinters, part of the Mishcon de Reya Group, are both hugely experienced in working with founding teams from the formation process, through various funding rounds and ultimately to exit.

Sue Staunton and Nicola McConville are joined by colleagues from their tax, employment and incentives teams as they continue their introductory series by exploring the fundamental considerations for ventures when putting together a team.
