Making art work in the workplace
This talk will explore how artwork can be used in corporate environments to enhance branding, stimulate creativity and boost staff morale and productivity. It is based on research carried out by IAC with the membership of the British Council of Offices and also by IDR, a specialist consultancy in workplace design and productivity, founded by Dr Craig Knight. The talk will review the research results, provide several case studies and share Best Practice in deploying art in the workplace.

About the Speakers
Alex Heath
Alex trained in Corporate Finance before completing an MBA at Harvard in 1993. He then spent 10 years running businesses in the Communications and New Media Industries, including Telewest (London), interactive investor and Virgin.net, before acquiring International Art Consultants in 2005, a leading provider of art advisory and procurement services to the corporate and public sectors. Alex is also Chairman of Artfinder, the fast growing global marketplace for affordable art.
Alex studied Art History at St Andrews, and has been involved in numerous other arts projects, both in the UK and abroad, throughout his professional career. Alex is co-author of “Making Art Work in the Workplace” produced in partnership with the British Council of Offices.
Dr Craig Knight
Dr. Craig Knight is Founder and Director of Identity Realization Limited (IDR), a commercial organization with strong connections to blue chip industry. Dr Knight is also an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Exeter, retaining research links with global universities. Working with various organizations, this combination of commercial focus and scientific application has seen Craig help realize increases in well-being of up to 40%, productivity of up to 32% and effective intelligence of up to 19%.
Craig’s focus is on evidence- based leadership, management and employee retention. IDR apply organizational solutions, drawn from applied, tested science, that directly benefit a client business, its employees and the bottom line. Craig is a Chartered Psychologist and a Registered Occupational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. He has operated at Director and Managing Director levels across business leadership, design and consultancy sectors since the last century.
