Marketing and Communications Manager– Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (maternity cover)

Grade 7: £32,817 – £40,322 with discretionary range to £44,045 pa.

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for building the reputation of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship as one of the world’s leading academic centres focused on social impact education and research. This post will involve developing and implementing a communications and public relations strategy to enhance the centre’s recognition, both globally and within the University, as thought-leaders in the areas of both academic and practitioner-related expertise in the field. The postholder will develop and implement, in collaboration with the Skoll Centre’s programme managers, tools and processes to improve outreach and engagement for the Centre’s individual initiatives, eg the Skoll Scholarship. The postholder will also be responsible for analysing whether these efforts are successful, and how to improve them if necessary.

As part of developing and implementing marketing strategies for the centre and its individual programmes, the postholder will also lead on the design and development of print, audio-visual and digital collateral as well as being responsible for the Centre’s marketing channels. Creating and curating content for these marketing channels such as social media, blogs, websites and email newsletters, is within this role’s remit.

The role is broad ranging; the postholder interfaces with key teams and individuals across the School and University and represents the Centre to external stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Manager will provide best practice marketing advice as well as support a variety of high profile projects on a day to day basis. The postholder will also be responsible for the management of additional communications support personnel.

Please note this post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking maternity leave. The post is available until April 2021 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest.
