Join our special online event to see our finalists pitch their businesses for the chance to win £25,000 and be crowned the winner of the 2022 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation. The event will also include an  award where the audience will get to vote for their ‘One to Watch’ from the shortlist, a fireside chat from a guest speaker and an interactive lookbook to learn more about this year’s shortlisted candidates.

For the past eight months, 16 talented entrepreneurs have undertaken intensive training and mentoring from international business leaders and experts. These entrepreneurs represent nine countries including, for the first time, Togo and The Republic of the Congo. This year, we are also celebrating female entrepreneurship and are very proud that our cohort has achieved an equal gender split, with eight women and eight men in the running for finalists.

On Wednesday 15 June, four finalists will pitch their businesses for the chance to win £25,000 and be crowned the winner of the 2022 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation. This will be followed by One to Watch pitches, where the audience will vote to decide which of the 12 shortlist pitches resonates most in terms of potential impact. The shortlist member with the most votes will receive £5K.  The event will also include a fireside chat from a guest speaker and an online exhibition to learn more about this year’s shortlisted candidates.

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation, founded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, awards crucial commercialisation support to ambitious African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges. Find out more here.
