Can the Internet itself ever become predictive? What does the future hold for AI and the Internet?

In this talk, JP Vasseur will share experiences and thoughts after a decade of experience developing AI enabled systems for Networking and the Internet, at scale. After a short introduction sharing thoughts on the use of AI in large scale industrial environments, and whether we reached a point where AI was getting closer to mimicking the human brain, several concrete use cases on which AI technologies are being used in the Internet will be discussed.

JP Vasseur is the Head of Engineering at Cisco Systems, and Associate Professor at Telecom Paris. Over the past 10 years, he has been leading Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in support of key applications including Wireless, IoT, SD WAN, Switching, Devices Classifications, Security and Multi-Domain at Cisco Systems. JP is the (co)inventor on over 600 patents, holds a PhD from Telecom Paris, as well as a Master’s degrees in both Computer Science and Mathematics.
