Oxford University Engineering Society is thrilled to announce that Rob Smedley, CEO of Smedley Group and one of Formula One Racing’s best-known automotive engineers, will be joining us for a candid talk, discussion and drinks evening on Thursday, 2 February.
Rob was was educated as a state school in the North East before being awarded a BSc in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, followed by a MSc in Mechanical Engineering, at Loughborough University. Over the course of his career, he has worked extensively in all areas of competitive racing, including as a transformative member on the Williams, Ferrari and Jordan Formula One teams. He has since gone on to found the Smedley Group, an advanced technology business working to improve and innovate engineering in the motorsport industry.
We are incredibly excited that Rob will be joining us to talk about his life, career and the changing face of automotive engineering – an incredible opportunity for our members. His discussion will be followed by an open bar.
